Formed on Canvey Island in Essex, UK, in the early 1970s, Dr. Feelgood remains one of the most popular and exciting live rhythm and blues acts in the world. The raw and uncompromising style of their performance resulted in the album Stupidity that immediately went to the number one position in the U.K. charts.

Dr. Feelgood have also enjoyed global success with a string of hit singles including Roxette, Back in the Night, Milk and Alcohol, Down at the Doctors, She Does it Right, Going Back Home and See You Later Alligator – which gave the group their first gold record. The last album to feature Lee Brilleaux  – Down at the Doctors, was recorded live at the Dr. Feelgood Music Bar on Canvey Island, (now the site of the Oysterfleet Hotel) just two months before he died.

The current line up features the rhythm section Kevin Morris on drums and Phil Mitchell on bass (both 33 years), Steve Walwyn on guitar (26 years), all of whom formed one of the early line-ups with Lee Brilleaux for several years and now share the stage with dynamic front-man Robert Kane (formerly of the Animals), who joined in 1999.

“The tragic flaw of most European blues musicians is not to be found in Blues Wire. There are no predictably banal hammered notes, no chicheish bending, no lifeless shuffles. Plenty of good taste, plenty of originality.”  International Herald Tribune

In the words of blues prodigy Katie Webster, “Blues Wire are the best blues band in Europe and deserve to be heard by a wider audience”.

Blues Wire  is one of Europe’s best kept blues secrets and they should finally get the chance to be known to blues lovers around the world.  Formed in 1983 by Sotiris Zisis (bass) and Elias Zaikos, Blues Wire recorded the first blues album ever to be made by Greek musicians. Thousands of gigs in every kind of venue imaginable, scores of TV and radio show appearances in Greece as well as abroad, and an enviable recording expertise have helped define their tight and recognizable sound, a mix of passion and maturity that only comes with experience. Playing festivals and clubs in France, Italy, Austria and Hungary (among others) consolidated their reputation and earned them many enthusiastic press reviews all around Europe.

Through the years Blues Wire have often backed up top blues artists such as Katie Webster, John Hammond, Larry Garner, Big Time Sarah, Carey and Lurrie Bell, Angela Brown, Louisiana Red & Al Copley, to mention a few, proving they can keep up with the best of them. They have also opened for legendary musicians like Buddy Guy,  John Mayall, Albert King, Otis Rush and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Their skill and musicianship led to memorable jam sessions with blues pioneers like Champion Jack Dupree, rising stars like Sherman Robertson, well-known British blues players like Dave Kelly, and the renowned Dr Feelgood .

Blues Wire have provided the foundation of the Greek blues scene and the main inspiration for many younger musicians, while leader Elias Zaikos (guitar, vocals) is considered the most important blues artist in the country.

The Black Strat Band was formed in August 1999 on the island of Corfu. Two dear friends, Alex Kapaklis and Nic Sellas, decided to create a rock and roll band and the name of the band for many years was the famous name for the Greeks “3 and the Kookoo” (1999 – 2015).

Over all these years the band created its own music in Greek lyrics and played live as a support band or together on stage for many major Greek and international rock n’ roll stars, among them Joe Lynn Turner (Deep Purple), Puressence, Cesar Zuiderwijk (Golden Earring), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, and many more.

Also the band has headlined for all the big rock n’ roll festivals on Corfu. In 2015 the band decided to change their name to The Black Strat Band as its was clear that from the year 2010 the band was in the mood of classic rock and as the new album of the band was coming out.
